Degradation of Reactive Black 5 Dye (RB5) using Iron Electrode (Fe.S) Derived from Iron Sludge Steel Waste via Electrochemical Method

Abstract A study has been performed on the degradation of Reactive Black 5 (RB5) as pollutant using iron electrode (Fe.S) derived from sludge steel waste via electrochemical method. The Fe.S and titanium graphite electrodes were applied anode cathode respectively during studied. studied operating parameters effect current density, initial pH, concentration, reusability electrode. experiment was carried out for 120 minutes electrolysis time. From results revealed that could be used three times with complete RB5 concentration 50 ppm. colour removal can achieved in any pH range (3,6, 9). density at 4 mA/cm 2 showed a faster compared to 2, 6,8, 10 .
